3 Game Changers For Republicans

Republicans need to pass legislation that is important to Americans.

Joe Biden has been in office for almost three months, and he has already signed a bill that has very little to do with its name. The COVID Stimulus bill contains less than 9% in funds for COVID relief. Other bills that have passed in the House and have been or will be sent to the Senate include:
HR-1 For The People Act
HR-127 Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act
HR-5 Equality Act
All of these bills will have a tremendous negative impact on our citizenry. This article is not to debate each of these bills. Instead, point out three game-changers for Republicans to tackle.

Game Changer #1

#1 – Come together on bipartisan legislation that will help the American people. When the GOP held all three government branches, they failed to support the President to fulfill his promises. They couldn’t pass a bill on immigration or health care. Instead, they relied on President Trump to figure out ways to avert the ongoing crisis. In many cases, he signed executive orders, but that’s a short fix. As soon as President Biden took office, he began to reverse the progress made by President Trump.

Donald Trump was able to accomplish much, but the GOP can’t take credit for that. They stood idly by while the President used his many resources to battle the Democrats and fight through false accusations. With a few exceptions, the Republican members of The House and The Senate were incapable of coming together to pass any meaningful legislation.

Game Changer #2

#2 – Go on the offense and put forward legislation that works and welcomes input from the other political party. There is an old saying, “don’t bring a knife to a gunfight.” Democrats use every legal option available to them to fight back. My own opinion is that not all of the Democratic actions were legal, but that’s another story. One thing for sure is they work with Attornies General in many states to file suit. In other words, they take actionable steps to move on their agendas. The typical response from the GOP has been to whine and complain. A good offense is the best defense. Let other members of Congress be themselves. It’s OK to point out their wayward actions. But then have a solution, not just a complaint. I am so tired of hearing Republicans talk about how underhanded Nancy Pelosi is. If they don’t like her methods, then fight back. I’m sure there are procedural resolutions that could stop or slow things down.

Game Changer #3

#3 – Republicans need to play well with other members of the Republican party. We expect that there will be negotiations with the other party. Our Republican Congress members fail to recognize that they need to negotiate within the party and develop workable solutions for the American people

Republicans Need To Stop Using The Three C’s

In 1936 Dale Carnegie published his famous book “How To Win Friends and Influence People”. Principle #1 was about the Three C’s: Don’t Criticize, Condemn or Complain.

America Is In Need Of A Congress That Works

The bottom line is that we now find ourselves fighting for our rights as American citizens. The U.S. Constitution is under attack, and We The People don’t have strong representation from our Republican members of Congress.

Congress needs to hear from you. Please email or call your Senator and Representative and let them know what you want them to do. And communicate with them frequently. And VOTE!! Voting is your right and your duty!
